Two Greenway Sections Remain Closed
Two sections of our popular Clayton River Walk on the Neuse & Sam's Branch greenways remain closed for repairs. Having greenways along the river make for scenic trails, but the proximity to water brings challenges. Hurricane Matthew's flood waters took out a bridge and delayed repairs at a utility station along the river. Check the map for how you can get around these closures.

NO PLASTIC BAGS IN RECYCLING
Please DO NOT PUT PLASTIC BAGS in your recycling cart! Throw everything in loose - bottles, cans, paper - it can all be sorted at the recycling plant. But DO NOT PUT your recycling in plastic grocery bags or garbage bags! They can clog the sorting machines and SHUT DOWN the ENTIRE recycling plant! If drivers see plastic bags in your cart, they'll leave a notice that they could not pick up your cart.
