CODE CLUB! 2 sessions: Wednesdays from 4-5 p.m. & Fridays from 2-3 p.m.

Does your kid want to be the next Mark Zuckerberg or Steve Wozniak? Then join us Wednesdays from 4-5 p.m. or Fridays from 2-3 p.m. for our weekly Code Club sessions! Kids just need to be old enough to read and use a computer on their own. We encourage you to bring your own device!

We're partnering with Prenda for this exciting new program, and they've got info and a video for parents here. In short, the company describes Code Club as that magical time of the week when kids get together and teach computers to do what we want them to! As Dropbox CEO Drew Houston put it, coding is the closest thing we have to a superpower! And did we mention there are currently 500,000 unfilled coding jobs in the United States with average salaries of $70,000?! You'll learn the Prenda software, which not only teaches kids how to code games, websites and backend software – it also teaches you how to learn! Kids progress through the program at their own pace, and the program is designed to encourage children to solve problems on their own using Internet research and collaboration with their peers. That equips kids to continue teaching themselves, and it's how professional coders solve problems every day!
