Memorial Day is a federal holiday in the US for remembering those who died while serving in the armed forces.  Did you know that the holiday was formerly known as Decoration Day?  This holiday originated after the Civil War to commemorate the Union and Confederate soldiers who died in the war.  By the 20th century, Memorial Day had been extended to honor all Americans who died while in the military service.

Enjoy your weekend - Memorial Day designates the beginning of summer.  Fire-up that grill, take a plunge to cool-off and bring out the cornhole game!
