Town Facilities Closed Good Friday, Garbage and Recycling Will Run As Usual

03/26/2018

All Town of Clayton facilities will be closed Friday, March 30 for Good Friday. If you have an emergency, call 911.

Good Friday and Easter will NOT affect garbage, recycling or yard waste collection, so put your bins out as usual Friday and Monday.

The Good Friday facility closures include Hocutt-Ellington Memorial Library, the Clayton Community Center, The Clayton Center and Town Hall — including our Utilities & Billing department.

The library will be open as usual Holy Saturday, but the Clayton Community Center will be closed.

Looking to have some fun on Good Friday with your preschooler (roughly ages 5 and under)?

Come to our annual Easter Egg Hunt at Clayton Community Park, 1075 Amelia Church Road. We'll unleash the kids on the eggs at 10:30 a.m., and they go fast, so you may want to arrive up to an hour early to get parked and into position. New this year, the Easter bunny and Clayton Fire Department engine will be arriving early at 9:30 a.m., so there's all the more reason to arrive early!

More than 10,000 eggs will be spread across the baseball ball fields for the children to grab up into their baskets as fast as they can. It’s a fantastic frenzy! Kids will be split into three age groups, so that the oldest ones don’t bump into those still learning to walk.

Click here for more info, including maps for overflow parking.

For more info on the Easter Egg Hunt, call the Clayton Parks & Recreation Department at 919-553-1550.
