The closures include Hocutt-Ellington Memorial Library, the Clayton Community Center, The Clayton Center and Town Hall — including our utilities and billing department. The library as usual on Saturday. The Clayton Community Center will be closed Friday through Sunday, but all of our Town parks will be open as usual.

All Star WILL run garbage, recycling and yard waste routes as usual this week.

On Sunday at 2 p.m., we invite the public to attend the unveiling of a sculpture honoring veterans in front of the historic steps of The Clayton Center auditorium.

Long-time WRAL Anchor David Crabtree will lead the ceremony, American Legion Post 71 will provide their honor/color guard and the Clayton High School NJROTC will put on a special drill team exhibition for the event. Students from Cooper Academy, our newly re-envisioned Downtown Clayton elementary school, will lead us in the singing of the National Anthem!

The event will take place on the Second Street side of The Clayton Center, located at 111 E. 2nd St.

Veterans, their families, friends and the entire community are invited to this special ceremony to dedicate a sculpture in honor of those who have proudly served their country.
